A Meeting of the Minds: Conference Talk
The other day, we published a note that it’s time to get serious about this whole conference thing we’ve been talking about for a while. Since October, actually. Well, at least publicly. We’d had conversations about it internally before then.
The next step here is to get together with the people that want to be involved, and start nailing down specifics.
We think we have a pretty solid venue. We’re pretty sure about the date.
So now let’s talk about everything from the high-level intent of this all the way down to timing of specific conference tracks…
Time To Get Serious About This Conference Thing
Okay. [deep breath]
It’s time for us to get serious about this conference thing.
We’re pretty sure we have a venue in mind.
We’re fairly comfy with a date that we have in mind.
So now it’s time for you to get serious along with us…
Event Tomorrow Night, Voltron and More for 1/18/2012
Our first event of 2012 takes place tomorrow night in the back room of the BlackFinn in Royal Oak. As always, 5:01pm start time, no cover charge, no kickbacks, just networking.
We’re approaching a few neat milestones with Detroitnet.org, and as we’re closing in on them, we’re apparently losing our minds.
But in the immortal words of Dr. Sheldon Cooper – “I am not crazy…my mother had me tested.”
So let’s get started…
So We Might Pull Together An Information Technology Conference In Detroit
Okay.
You’ve heard / read me rant about how many irons we have in how many different fires we have at the moment.
Well, one of those is that there are some very serious discussions underway about us putting together a large-scale Information Technology conference in Detroit.
Because there really isn’t one to speak of.
And yes, this is what that whole “Godfather” moment thing has been about for the past couple of months.
But you know us…if we’re going to do something, then it’s going to have to be done right.
And of course, by “right”, we mean “the way that works the best for all of you”.
So, here we are…yet again…looking for some feedback and input from you…
